Situated some three hours from Gauteng, the quaint little town of Dullstroom in the highlands has developed into the most popular place in South Africa for catching trout. Unfortunately, the town itself is sometimes overlooked when the fishing comes first. Thanks to Trout Valley’s proximity to town all the best things about the village can be enjoyed without a long, dusty drive.

There are a host of great restaurants and pubs hosting everything from whisky and gin tastings, to locally-brewed craft beer. There is also an Ernie Els-designed golf course
